Feel sorry for Mr. Overblown Mawi. The limelight he's under is too intense. I'll be charred by now if I were him. For the latest addition to his collection of accolades, check out Saturday's STAR. He has been appointed Johor National Parks Conservative Envoy for LIFE concurrent with the receipt of the state's Most Excellent Citizen Award for 2005. Previously, the same Mentri Besar gave him some state's Sports Award. Doesn't quite make sense, does it? What the hell do these awards have to do with him or his singing?! I don't think he thinks much of the forest. Plus, there is a truckload of other Johorians who have done wonderful things to and for the state. Now tell me, what has Mawi given or done that has benefited Johor? How can one justify these irrelevant recognitions? Too much lah. Rimas! Bet some of the AF fans who contributed to his victory are puking in regret now. Don't get me wrong. The poor boy is not at fault. The irrational fanatics are.And why do we need a song for our national flag? Isn't that a bit silly? What's the national anthem for? Ntah apa apa! And have you ever had butterflies in your stomach when you saw the Jalur Gemilang in an international arena in which the US was also present? You know the "what would people think" discomfort due to having a flag that is identical to another country's less the crescent, single star and number of stripes. People say immitation is flattery but flattering the US is a big NO NO as it will certainly boost their already huge ego. Kenapalah flag kita nak sama hah? Was it inspired by the Ameracan flag? Or was it truly an authentic design which just happened to coincide?
