Much Ado About The Globe

A much awaited trip to Shakespeare's Globe concluded.

The theatre which only opens its doors for performances during summer is situated on the Southbank of the Thames and in between London Bridge and Blackfriar's Bridge.

We saw the original Much Ado About Nothing, one of my favourite.

Needless to say, it reminded me so much of my (boarding) school's annual ED (Interform English Drama Competition) splendour, a fierce competition that is more than a simple test of theatrical talents but a show of mental and physical grit, union and when it gets out control (like it often does), a rhetorical Superbitch Challenge Trophy is up for grabs. It's not an easy task trying to explain to people how exceptional the shows are normally are. Suffice to say that if you happen to be in Malaysia between the months of March to June, you should try your luck at catching one. You'd be impressed, that I warrant. Costumes, props, backdrops that set scenes from Edwardian to Roman, ancient Orients, you name it. Whatever is called for the girls can do it, from scratch and without proffesional assistance but a hard work of research, imagination and cooperation.
