Does it matter?
...That you are smarter,...that you are poorer,
...that your heart is bigger?
...That she is slimmer,
...that she is prettier,
...that she has more grace?
...That she is in the limelight?
...and you are in the dark?
...and you don't own, for inconclusive reasons?
...and you feel hopeless, like a baby ant who lost its trail
in the Saharan desert?
...and you want to give up...
...That he is shorter,
...that he might do after all?
...but you don't know that... and you will never know...
Which matters more?
...A maternal relationship,
...A sisterhood,
...A friendship,
...A love affair,
...A marriage?
...or simply...
the relationship between two individuals
...with emotions and reflexes
...with attributes and personalities
...with temper and displeasures
...with hearts and desires?
just a couple of humans, notwithstanding,
living this life out...
the specific ties... does it not matter sometimes?
What others think... it really doesn't matter, does it?
But occassionally it does, doesn't it?
